A first-generation (FGEN) college student is defined as an individual who attends college when neither their mother nor father earned a four-year college degree. The Shepard Academic Resource Center is continuing to develop programming specifically for FGEN students, and can use your help. They would love to update their master roster of current UP faculty and staff that were FGEN students themselves. If you were an FGEN student, please take a moment and contact Matt Daily, program manager for special populations in the Shepard Center, at daily@up.edu. Also, any faculty or staff who would be interested in opportunities to help current FGEN students are asked to please let Matt know.
