The University of Portland community considers Martin Luther King, Jr. Day as a day ON! Not a day off. This year will offer another opportunity to reflect on how Dr. King’s work can be seen through the lens of our mission in the areas of teaching and learning, faith and formation, and service and leadership. Our theme invites us to center our attention on knowing, appreciating, and building our beloved community.
Monday, January 16, will feature a service with the Portland Interfaith Gospel Choir in the Chapel of Christ the Teacher at 7:00 p.m.
Tuesday, January 17, will feature a panel discussion with alumni, staff, and students that will reflect on the question, “Who Is in Our Beloved Community?” at 5 p.m. in Brian Doyle Auditorium (Dundon-Berchtold Hall 004).
From January 17 through 20, join our community in appreciating our colleagues in Facilities Services and Bon App. Come sign cards of gratitude in the Diversity Center (Buckley Center 102), open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Moreau Center is encouraging ongoing engagement in service and justice through GivePulse.
