Classroom Computers Now Running Windows 11

We’re excited to announce that all classroom computers have been upgraded to Windows 11 in preparation for the upcoming semester. This transition brings a refreshed interface and new features designed to enhance performance and usability. However, you may notice that the look and feel differ significantly from Windows 10. AV Services Labor Rates Change

August 18, 2025

Audio & Visual Services will be increasing the chargeback rate for event support outside normal business hours starting Monday, August 25. The hourly rate will increase from $25 to $30 an hour, with a minimum charge of two hours. (Read More)

Systems Maintenance (Aug. 6)

August 4, 2025

On Wednesday, August 6, Information Services will be applying patches and upgrades to several of our systems. The work will begin at 4:30 p.m. and continue to the end of the calendar day. This will intermittently affect the usability of PilotsUP, Moodle, Degree Works, Registration, Banner Admin, Self Serve Banner, Etrieve Forms, and Argos. (Read More)

VPN Changing to “vpn.up.edu” (Nov. 4)

October 28, 2024

The existing VPN, “remote.up.edu,” will be retired on Monday, November 4. All VPN users are encouraged to start using the new VPN at “vpn.up.edu.” This new VPN will continue to use the Cisco Secure Client application, though the client may perform a quick update upon the first connection to vpn.up.edu.

Dave Houglum, Director of Leadership Studies and Leadership Professor of Practice in the Franz Center for Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation, facilitated a multi-day series of invited leadership development workshops for the staff team at Lutherhaven Ministries in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Houglum led six interactive sessions focused on DiSC-informed leadership, coaching-centered leadership, servant leadership and accompaniment, powerful feedback, and the co-creation of team commitments to support healthy culture and sustainable impact. In addition, Houglum provided multiple individual leadership coaching sessions for staff members throughout the engagement. January 2026.

Fr. Pat Hannon, CSC, published From Glory to Glory: A Pilgrim’s Notes From the Badlands of Grace.
