Bells in the Ballroom

Christmas bells will indeed be ringing in the Mehling Ballroom during the annual Bells In The Ballroom” concert and celebration on Friday, December 8, at 7:30 p.m. All UP employees and their families are invited to come enjoy the festive sounds of the season with performances by the Chapel Handbell Choir, Chapel Choir (with University Orchestra members), and a debut performance of “The Bluff Boys” Barbershop Quartet. Christmas carols, cookies, cocoa, and prizes will also be a part of this very fun and relaxed concert in Mehling Hall Ballroom. Carol of the Bells? Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus? Anyone who has sung the Hallelujah Chorus before, or who might like to learn it, is welcome to lend their voice with the Chapel Choir at this year’s Bells in the Ballroom Concert. The concert, featuring the sounds of the Chapel Handbell Choir, Chapel Choir, and the UP Acapella Choir, will definitely get you in the spirit of the Christmas season.

The Bells in the Ballroom Concert is Friday, December 8, in the Mehling Ballroom, at 7:30 p.m. All staff, faculty, and families are invited. There will be cocoa and cookies, and giveaway prizes as well.

University faculty, staff, and family members are invited to the Mehling Ballroom on Saturday, December 12, at 7:30 p.m., to enjoy festive music of Christmas. The “Bells in the Ballroom” concert includes performances by the Chapel Handbell Choir, the Chapel Choir, and the all-male acapella sensation “Call Our Bluff.” The Hallelujah Chorus will be sung, accompanied by members of the University Orchestra. With cocoa, cookies, and sing-along carols, this concert promises a good dose of holiday cheer.

All musically minded and inspired UP faculty, staff, alumni, and friends are invited to lend their voices to the UP Chapel Choir’s annual Christmas concert, the “Bells in the Ballroom,” on Friday, December 5, at 7 p.m., in the Mehling Ballroom lounge, according to Maureen Briare, campus ministry. The choir will be singing the “Hallelujah Chorus” as the finale, and all who have sung it before are invited to join in the choir. Members of the University Orchestra will be accompanying several of the selections.

The concert is a fun time for UP families to enjoy Christmas cookies, hot cocoa, and the musical joy of the season, including the all-male UP accapella sensation, “Call Our Bluff.” Please contact Briare at 7335 or briare@up.edu if you would like to be a part of this chorus.
