Employee awards for 2015 were presented at the annual employees’ holiday banquet on Monday, December 21. The winners:
- Teri Landtiser, who won the Margaret W. Henzi Award for outstanding office/clerical employees, and was cited as “Terri Landtiser, who was praised as “trusted and loyal, diligent and dedicated, selfless and serene, utterly unflappable, and entirely devoted to the University.”
- Dirk Theisen won the Ted Deiss/Joyce and Virgil Dodson Outstanding Physical Plant Employee Award. He was praised as “a dedicated, reliable, and thoughtful professional of the first rank.”
- The winner of the Hooyboer Outstanding Professional Staff Award: Marty Williams, “an articulate, cheerful, loyal, ebullient, exuberant, energetic soul who, over the course of his 18 years on The Bluff, has in so many ways been a wonderful and welcoming avatar of the University itself to many thousands of prospective students.” The Hooyboer Award honors the sort of dedication and commitment that drives and infuses the University’s best and most creative and visionary staffers.
- Winning the Father Charles Miltner, C.S.C., Award was the inimitable Buzz Stroud, who “has done every single task and responsibility possible in the world of college athletics during his 32 years, and done them with wit, integrity, and an amazing memory for facts and anecdotes.” Beginning with the late Fr. John Hooyboer, C.S.C., the first recipient, the award has been presented to diligent and creative men and women who have gone to sometimes extraordinary lengths to further the mission of the University. It is the highest employee honor bestowed by the University.
Employees were also honored for milestone years of service to the University, including Maria Petterson, Anthony Box, Samuel Williams, Lisa Chambers, Colin Pfaff, Karen Davis, Tracie Gerber, Trevor Harvey, Andrew Keippela, Christopher Greene, Daniel Herman, Molly Walsh, Leland Hansen, Ronald Miller, Carolyn Blumenson, Christa Hill, Br. Thomas Giumenta, C.S.C., Rosalie Healy, and Jacob Caniparoli (5 years); Matthew Deschner, Aaron Gross, Adam Linnman, Stacey Boatright, Michael McNerney, Bethany Sills, and Theresa Landtiser (10 years); Niang-Hoon Chew, Tanya Wangsmo, Christine Naylor, Amy Cavanaugh, Kathy Hansen, Darcy Huebner, Heidi Keller, Lori Ungern, Lynn Benedict, Petrus Tiofil, Melanie Gangle (15 Years); Carolyn Connolly, Susan Campbell-Gross, Linda Gill (20 years); Robert Connor, James Wells (25 years); and Bill Reed and Jim Kuffner (30 years).
