The School of Education invites all to visit the Roosevelt High School Freedom Fighters exhibit displayed in Franz Hall foyer on March 3, 4, and 5. This past fall, Roosevelt High students interviewed twenty two local freedom fighters—individuals who in various ways have taken a stand for social justice—as part of their 9th-grade Humanities class. The free exhibit captures the essence of these interviews, featuring student writing and comments on the importance of advocating for social justice in our communities. In this year’s exhibit, Shiley School of Engineering administrative assistant to the dean Kim Spir is featured for her work on the history of women’s and girls’ track and field in the state of Oregon.
