The University of Portland Orchestra will present the “Romeo and Juliet” concert, featuring Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet Overture and Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from West Side Story, on Tuesday, April 22, at 7:30 p.m., in Buckley Center Auditorium. Admission is free and all are welcome. The orchestra will perform two of the most famous musical depictions of Shakespeare’s classic tragedy, from the drama and lush Romanticism of Tchaikovsky to the restless, jazz-tinged energy of Bernstein.
