Three new posts are ready to enlighten UP community members of our storied past, according to museum coordinator Carolyn Connolly:
- In today’s digital world, companies and organizations pay fees to register their domain name for annual use. Readers of the University Museum blog might be surprised to learn how much the University of Portland had to pay to purchase the rights for our own name in 1936. For more view our post at http://tinyurl.com/n627qtt.
- October 29 marks twenty-five years since the death of Rev. Tom Oddo, C.S.C., 17th president of the University. The University Archives and Museum offer this “In Memory” to Fr. Tom on the following blog post: http://tinyurl.com/klz7ese
- Each year on Halloween resident students welcome neighborhood children to trick-or-treat in the residence halls. The tradition of inviting children to UP for holidays dates back to an earlier time in its history when student service organizations sponsored an annual Orphans’ Christmas Party.
