
Major Terrance “TP” Pitts joins the University of Portland as Professor of Military Science, bringing over 26 years of service in the U.S. Army. Originally from Lake Providence, Louisiana, and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, he began his military career in 1998, rising through the enlisted ranks before commissioning as a Signal Corps officer.
Terrance has served in a range of high-tempo leadership roles, most notably within U.S. Army Forces Command (FORSCOM), U.S. Army Recruiting Command (USAREC), the Pentagon, and U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM). He holds Master’s degrees in Human Resources Development and Information Technology Management from Webster University and brings a passion for mentorship, communication, and developing future leaders.
Outside the classroom, he’s an executive coach, avid reader, saxophonist, sports and classic car enthusiast, and proud husband and father. Terrance is excited to be part of the UP community and to help inspire the next generation of Army officers.
