The School of Education recently welcomed Ryan Darmody ’97 as its new Assistant Dean for the Pacific Alliance for Catholic Education (PACE), succeeding Gary Beckley. Ryan Darmody is a veteran educator with over two decades of experience in Catholic elementary and secondary education. After graduating from UP with his BA in English, he joined the Response Ability teacher service program where he lived in community and taught in a Catholic school in San Francisco. He also spent three years living and volunteering in Chile. Ryan earned an MA in Theology at the University of San Francisco and an MS in School Administration from the University of Scranton. Most recently, he honed his business and marketing skills as an Operations Manager in commercial real estate.
Ryan is a champion of the Pacific Alliance for Catholic Education (PACE). He understands how experience and community create the best foundation for educators-to-be facing the challenges of first- or second-year teaching. He looks forward to supporting those educators and positively impacting the landscape of Catholic education through PACE at UP.
