Before coming to the University of Portland, M.S.G. Daniel Ramirez served as the First Sergeant for First Army Headquarters, Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois. M.S.G. Ramirez has held various leadership positions throughout a 19-year career in the Army that have ranged from Team Leader, Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, Scout Platoon Sergeant, Ranger Instructor, Operations Sergeant, and First Sergeant. His military education includes the Basic Airborne Course, Air Assault Course, Rappel Master Course, Army Combative LV I, Equal Opportunity Leaders Course, Master Resilience Course, Tactical Certification Course, Basic Instructor Course, Warriors Leadership Course, Advanced and Senior Leaders Course and Ranger School. M.S.G. Ramirez is also currently pursuing a degree in ministry leadership. During his military career he has lived in some unique locations, including Buamholder, Germany, the island of Oahu, Hawaii, Fort Walton Beach, Florida, LeClaire, Iowa and served three tours in Iraq. M.S.G. Ramirez resides in Washington with his family. During his off time, he is very active in his church, loves spending time with his family and working out.
