Edward Yuen is the new senior accountant with the Office of the Controller. He started working for the University in May 2021. In his new role, Edward is responsible for the treasury functions in the Office, which include monitoring activities in the University’s operation bank accounts, maintaining constant communications with different departments when their expected funds become available, compiling international students’ tax withholding, and the reporting and calculation of staff tuition remission. Edward is also the liaison between University’s external auditor and the Athletic department on the annual financial statement review as required by the NCAA. Before coming to the University, Edward worked in local public accounting firms, auditing various local governments, municipals, special districts, and other not-for-profit organizations. He also previously worked in a local credit union in its training and compliance departments. Edward received his first bachelor’s degree in biology and journalism (with a focus on public relations and advertising) from the University of Oregon. He received his undergraduate post-bac degree in accounting from Portland State University.
