Daniel Osborne is originally from Ft. Wayne, Indiana, the eldest of eleven children. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1986-1996, principally as a surgical technologist specializing in peripheral vascular techniques. He graduated from Holmes Community College in 1998 and was selected as one of the top twenty community college students in the country that year. He graduated with his B.S. in A.C.S.-certified chemical physics from Mississippi College in 2000, and briefly studied at the Vanderbilt University College of Medicine. He completed his graduate studies at the University of Memphis in computational and synthetic organic chemistry, earning his M.S. in 2004 and his Ph.D. in 2006. He concluded his training in the field of molecular pharmacology in 2009. He is the author of nine peer reviewed journal articles and maintains research interests in lipid GPCR structural studies and drug development. Daniel has taught over sixty sections of organic chemistry since 2010 at a variety of institutions of higher learning. He is committed to equity and equality in educational pursuits for all learners of all ages from all cultural backgrounds and founded a 501(c)(3) nonprofit to that end in 2019. He is a recognized expert on MCAT preparation and has helped hundreds of students matriculate to a variety of professional schools. In his free time, Daniel enjoys travel and exploring nature with his family and two adorable bulldog puppies. He also collects nineteenth century chemistry texts and exams and any medium containing a periodic table.
