The University has announced plans to construct a new residence hall with room for approximately 270 students, to be located on the UP campus adjacent to the newly constructed Beauchamp Recreation and Wellness Center. The University aims to have the project begin this summer and be completed prior to the start of the 2016-17 academic year.
The ground floor of the new residence hall will include a spacious lobby, a classroom, office space, a dining concession, and a chapel, while the top three floors will house students. Architectural renderings of the new building are available here: https://universityofportland.smugmug.com/Marketing/Willamette-Student-Housing/n-MvZhJb/.
With the construction of Fields and Schoenfeldt Halls, renovations to existing dorms, and completion of the new residence hall, the University will have increased its on-campus student housing capacity by 53 percent since 2009.
