As the kick-off of Senior Night, Last Lecture is an opportunity for a beloved professor to share photos, stories, and sentimental life advice as seniors prepare for commencement and beyond. Each year, the Senior Class Campaign Committee nominates eight professors and the entire senior class has an opportunity to vote for who will speak. The Class of 2017 is excited to announce that Mary Oakes, instructor and simulation program manager in the School of Nursing, will be this year’s presenter. Honorable mention as well for the other professors who were nominated: Alexa Dare, communications; Ted Eckmann, environmental sciences; Kyle Flann, biology; Ryan Kenton, biology; Lars Larson, English; Mark Pitzer, psychology; and Stephanie Salomone, mathematics.
Oakes will be giving her lecture on Wednesday, April 26, at 7 p.m., in the Chapel of Christ the Teacher. While seating may be limited, all faculty and staff are invited to celebrate with the soon-to-be graduates at Prost with Profs in the Pilot House immediately following the presentation. Join us in congratulating Mary Oakes on this wonderful honor!
