The northbound span of the Interstate Bridge was scheduled to close from September 12 to 20 to allow crews to replace mechanical parts that help lift and lower the bridge. ODOT has postponed the I-5 Interstate Bridge Trunnion Replacement Project in order to keep the highway system as clear as possible for wildfire evacuees, and will instead begin the closure of the northbound span at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, September 19. The span will remain closed until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, September 27.
If you have an in-person appointment that requires travel across the Interstate Bridge, you may want to leave early or consider using the Glenn L. Jackson Memorial Bridge on Interstate-205 as an alternate route. For more information about the closure, visit the official website for the Interstate Bridge.
