Humanities Faculty: Deadline Extended For Kate Regan Faculty Development Fund Grants

March 9, 2021

The Collaborative for International Studies and Global Outreach (CISGO) is pleased to announce the continuation of the Kate Regan Faculty Development grants for 2021 – 2022. A generous donor has created a grant to support faculty in the humanities (English, History, International Languages and Cultures, Performing and Fine Arts, Philosophy, and Theology) whose teaching and scholarship encompasses international and intercultural topics. The donor desires that this grant will honor Kate Regan, who was a tireless advocate for junior faculty; therefore, applications from junior faculty will be given priority.

A total of $10,000 has been generously donated for this grant, which is designed for faculty members in the humanities to support an internationally focused research project that contributes to the internationalization of the University of Portland by incorporating international perspectives into teaching or curricular development. The selection committee will decide on awarding a single $10K grant, or smaller grants depending on the application pool. The funding may be used for the following reasons:

  • For international travel for research, course development, or scholarly collaboration with colleagues in other countries beyond the USA and/or internationally focused professional development.
  • As a stipend to pay for research, course development, or scholarly collaboration with colleagues in other countries beyond the USA and/or internationally focused professional development. NOTE: Any portion of the grant used as a stipend will be subject to deduction of taxes and fringe benefits.

For details regarding the selection criteria, timeline and link to the Application, visit the CISGO website at:  Kate Regan Faculty Development Fund
