Join us on Wednesday, September 28, at 7:15 p.m. in the Buckley Center Auditorium with internationally recognized cultural critic of the Hebrew Bible, Susanne Scholz, PhD. A voice for justice, she has taught and written tirelessly to expose, deconstruct, and resist systemic injustice. Her call for solidarity among the Global South and the Global North receives renewed urgency in light of the relentless emergence of a robotic, technocratic, surveillance driven future. Scholz is Professor of Old Testament at Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, Texas. Her research focuses on feminist biblical hermeneutics, cultural studies, and the epistemologies and sociologies of biblical interpretation. Lecture followed by book signing. Free and open to all. Co-sponsored by College of Arts & Sciences, Department of Theology, and Garaventa Center. For ADA accommodations or further information, please contact the Garaventa Center at 503-943-7702 or garaventa@up.edu.
