As the University prepares to celebrate Holy Week, Campus Ministry invites the community to join us for a bevy of prayer, liturgies, and Mass opportunities. Holy Week begins with the Celebration of the Lord’s Entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, April 10. Masses with the blessing and distribution of palms will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Extended hours of Eucharistic Adoration and the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be offered on Tuesday, April 12, from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. In collaboration with Karen Eifler in the Garaventa Center, we will offer Visio Divina on Wednesday, April 13, following the conclusion of the 12:05 p.m. Mass. The Paschal Triduum begins on Holy Thursday with the Mass of the Lord’s Supper, celebrated at 4:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Christ the Teacher. Adoration at the Altar of Repose will be available throughout the night in the Chapel. Good Friday is marked with the Celebration of the Lord’s Passion at 3 p.m., with the Sacrament of Reconciliation available from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. The Easter Vigil Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Christ the Teacher. Join us as we welcome three of our students into the Church at that Mass. Easter Sunday Mass of the Lord’s Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. All are welcome to join us in these holiest celebrations of the Christian calendar. Please contact Fr. Tim (weed@up.edu) for further information or visit our website.
We also welcome any students, faculty, and staff who might wish to lend their voices in song to be part of our Chapel Choir for the Triduum. Please contact Hector Mendoza, Campus Minister for Liturgical Music (mendoza@up.edu), with any questions or to offer your talents!
