In February the Shiley School of Engineering will be conducting its annual project pitch nights for senior design projects, according to Andrew Nuxoll, engineering. This is an opportunity for faulty and staff members to recruit a team of soon-to-be-professional engineers to construct a mechanical, electrical, and/or software prototype to their specifications.
Past projects for UP faculty and staff include a custom colored light projector for research in field analysis for Kevin Cantrell, chemistry; an Android app for Pilots fans requested by the athletics office; and a temperature controlled sample container for Steven Mayer, chemistry. Projects that are selected this semester will begin production in August and be completed in April 2016. Faculty and staff who have a pitch they would like to make can contact Nuxoll nuxoll@up.edu.
