The University will host the sixth annual Earth Care Summit, “The True Costs of Climate Change,” on Saturday and Sunday, January 24 and 25, in Buckley Center Auditorium and Franz Hall. Registration will close on Friday, January 16; go to www.emoregon.org.
Attendees will explore how climate change affects physical and mental health, agriculture and biodiversity, social and economic well-being, and culture and faith while looking at current, equitable solutions. Special guests will include Yoram Bauman, billed as “the world’s first and only stand-up economist,” and keynote speaker Dan Misleh, executive director of the Catholic Coalition on Climate Change. The Earth Care Summit is sponsored by Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon, Interfaith Network for Earth Concerns, Oregon Interfaith Power and Light, and the University of Portland.
