The Public Research Fellows program is excited to announce the launch of an oral history/archive project, “College after COVID: Archiving the Present to Envision UP’s Futures.”
Our interdisciplinary working group aims to collect and archive stories and experiences of UP community members at a singular moment in the University’s history. As we return to something closer to “normal” campus life after more than a year of COVID-related disruption, we are eager to document and learn about the experiences of students, staff, and faculty both during the months of remote work and learning, as well as at this moment of return. In addition to creating an archive of stories for the future, we also plan to craft humanities-oriented solutions to the problems and challenges of college in pandemic times. Students, staff, and faculty can participate in our archive project in multiple ways: from being interviewed for a short documentary film, to conducting short interviews via our at-home toolkit, to joining one of our College after COVID conversations (to be held early in Spring semester). As a starting point, we invite those interested in participating to fill out this survey; you may also email hiro@up.edu for more information about this archive project.
