The Congregation of Holy Cross has announced a change in assignment for Brother Thomas Giumenta, C.S.C., who has served UP for 12 years as learning assistance counselor, pastoral resident in Shipstad Hall and Chaplain to the men’s soccer program. Brother Thomas has been assigned to serve as assistant director of novices at Holy Cross Novitiate in Cascade, Colorado. The Holy Cross Novitiate is the spiritual training program which young men participate in as they discern their vocation to become Holy Cross Brothers and Priests. Brother Thomas’ duties will include providing a range of academic formation topics and activities which will support young men in their journey in Holy Cross. The Provincial Superior has requested that Brother Thomas begin his new work on February 3, 2022. Brother Thomas will continue to serve as the professor of record for ED 102 – The University Success Class, until the end of the spring semester, teaching the class remotely. Campus Ministry will say a special blessing for Brother Thomas on Sunday, January 30 during the 10:30 a.m. Mass at Christ the Teacher Chapel. A brief reception will follow at St. Mary’s Hall, and all are welcome to attend.
