The Student Alumni Association (SAA) will host their 5th Annual Easter Egg Hunt on the east side Quad, near Howard Hall, on Sunday, March 24, following Palm Sunday Mass and brunch, around 12 noon. The event is open to children of all alumni, staff, faculty, and friends of the University. There will be pastries and coffee available as well. Beacon Shines Again
The University’s award-winning student publication, the Beacon, has won 10 regional Mark of Excellence awards from the Society of Professional Journalists, according to advisor Nancy Copic, student activities. The competition encompasses student newspapers from Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho and Alaska. The Beacon competed in the Small College or University category, with 5,000 or fewer undergraduate students. The staff will learn if the awards are for first, second, or third place at the regional SPJ conference at Gonzaga on April 12 and 13. A Taste Of The Islands: 2013 Luau
All faculty, staff, students, and the public (and their families) are invited to enjoy a night of great Hawaiian food, music, dance, and fun at the 37th annual Hawaii Club Luau on Saturday, March 23, in the Chiles Center. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., dinner will be served at 6 p.m., and the show will begin at 7 p.m. Students, faculty, and staff tickets are $10 (limited to one ticket; additional tickets are regular price); general admission tickets are $20; senior citizen and children under 9 are $15; and groups of 6 or more are $15 per person.

Faculty & Staff Dancers Needed
The Hawaii Club is looking for faculty and staff to dance as part of the show at the University’s 37th annual Luau on Saturday, March 23. Those who participate will receive a free ticket to the event. No dance experience is necessary to join the fun, and UP employees should note that Hawaiian dance practice is great exercise and would count toward points for the Thrive Across America competition.
