Terry Favero, biology, presented “Workload and recovery in starters and non-starters in women’scollegiate soccer athletes” (with students K. Winters and K. Chandhoke) at the 8th World Congress on Science and Football in Copenhagen Denmark in May 2015, and co-chaired a workshop on soccer nutrition at the same conference. He also gave an invited lecture at the University of Ljubljana-Faculty of Sport entitled “Dual-Career Athletes and the NCAA,” on May 25.

Kevin Jones, social work, presented and successfully defended his dissertation entitled, “An Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis of Long-term Mentoring Relationships from the Youth Perspective,” and will graduate on June 13 with a Ph.D. in social work and social research from the Portland State University School of Social Work.
Andrew Eshleman, philosophy, presented “The Afterlife: Beyond Belief,” at the Immortality Capstone Conference, University of California, Riverside, May 30.
Mead Hunter, performing and fine arts, presided over The New Harmony Project’s 29th Conference last month as artistic director. He also served as dramaturg for a new play commissioned by the Folger Theatre entitled “District Merchants,” by Aaron Posner, a reimagining of Shakespeare’s “The Merchant of Venice.”
