Laura Mood, nursing, presented at the Western Institute of Nursing conference on April 8 in Anaheim, Calif., a podium presentation entitled “Experiences of Students and New Nurses with Learning Disabilities in Transition-to-Practice.”
Ted Eckmann, environmental studies, was quoted in an article, “Oregon House Speaker Criticizes DEQ Investigation Of Swan Island Odors,” published on April 11 by KLCC 89.7 FM, a public radio station licensed to Lane Community College in Eugene, Ore. Eduardo Contreras, studies abroad, co-facilitated a pre-conference workshop (with Pardip Bolina of the University of Michigan) on “Diversity as Strategy in Education Abroad” at the Diversity Abroad Annual Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. Contreras was also the chair of the Conference Planning Committee.
Heather Dillon, engineering, presented “Equation Free Modeling as a Method for Reducing Computation Time for Natural Convection from a Vertical Plate” (with Hollis Crowder) at the National Council on Undergraduate Research, Asheville, N.C., April 2016.

Lorretta Krautscheid, nursing, presented “Moral distress among baccalaureate nursing students: A multi-site descriptive study” (with students Conor Livingston and Austin Smith) at the Western Institute of Nursing Research Conference in Anaheim, Calif., April 2016. She also presented a poster, “Advocating amidst conflict. Communication styles demonstrated by baccalaureate nursing students during high fidelity simulation” (with co-presenters Beth Krautscheid and Carissa Luebbering) at the same conference.
