Members of the University Singers, directed by Michael Connolly, performed at the opening session of the 2016 Oregon Legislature on February 1. House speaker Tina Kotek lives near the University and made a special invitation to her neighbors.

Steve Kolmes, environmental studies, hosted Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon’s Seventh Annual Earth Care Summit, “Renewing Creation From the Ground Up,” in partnership with EMO, on the UP campus. The summmit featured the Rev. Randy Woodley, distinguished professor of Faith and Culture and director of Intercultural and Indigenous Studies at George Fox, as keynote speaker.

Larry Larsen, performing and fine Arts, designed the scenery for Third Rail Repertory Theatre’s production of “Mr. Kolpert.” The production opened February 5 and plays through February 27 at the Imago Theater.
