Fr. Charlie Gordon, C.S.C., Garaventa Center, was interviewed for Think Out Loud, an Oregon Public Broadcasting radio program, on the subject of the papal visit to the United States. That interview was followed by an appearance on “The Talk Box,” part of the KGW TV program Live at Seven. The radio program can be heard at this link, and the video segment is viewable here.

Susan Stillwell, nursing, presented a poster on “Integrating Informatics, Population Health and Policy: A Learner Activity” at the 8th National Doctors of Nursing Practice conference in Seattle, WA, September 18.

Fr. Charlie Gordon, C.S.C., and Karen Eifler, Garaventa Center, provided an op-ed piece for the online and Sunday print editions of the Oregonian regarding lessons learned from the recent papal visit to the U.S. Their piece is called A Pope With Joy to Bring. They also provided TV and radio interviews on that topic for KGW “Live at 7,” OPB’s “Think Out Loud” and KXL.

David Fuentes, Nursing and Health Innovations, presented “Bridging the Skills across Human and Artificial Intelligence Coaching Strategies to Boost Peer-Coaching & Self-Coaching Skills.” Co-presenter: Dave Houglum, PhD. Lightning Session of the Catholic Higher Education and AI Conference at University of Portland. The session briefly highlighted some of the innovations concerning the use of AI in leadership coaching, practice/training, and coaching ongoing developmental growth. October, 2024. Dave Houglum, Director of Leadership Studies and Leadership Professor of Practice, Franz Center for Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation, presented nine, one-hour invited leadership presentations for the European Leadership Programme in Brussels, Belgium. Houglum also provided individual leadership coaching sessions to many of the programme’s Fellows and to the staff of the Jesuit European Social Center (JESC). The European Leadership Programme draws emerging leaders from across Europe to participate in a five-month leadership development programme. October 12-16, 2024.
