VoiceThread and Universal Design for Learning (UDL)

When: March 8, 2022 1:00 pm (Eastern Time)

Participants will learn how VoiceThread can help educators provide multiple means of engagement, representation, action and expression for their courses. We will review how to use VoiceThread’s multi-modal communication platform, the new closed captioning features, and VoiceThread Universal to design accessible lessons. Register here

Using VoiceThread for Student Portfolios

When: March 15, 2022 1:00 pm (Eastern Time)

If you are interested in learning how to use VoiceThread as a portfolio tool to showcase student work or to provide feedback for their work in progress, this workshop will showcase a variety of student portfolio examples and collaborate on a shared brainstorm discussion. Register here

VoiceThread Advanced Skills

When: March 22, 2022 1:00 pm (Eastern Standard Time)

Participants will learn about more advanced VoiceThread features such as how to integrate Google Drive content, how to change language displays, adjust playback settings, and more. Portions of the workshop will be hands-on. Register here

Teaching Languages with VoiceThread

When: March 29, 2022 1:00 pm (Eastern Standard Time)

In this interactive session, participants will exchange ideas about creating learning experiences with VoiceThread around improved reading and writing skills in any language. Whether students are learning English or any other language, vocabulary, grammar and speaking are fundamental elements of any course. After completing this training, educators will be better equipped to design innovative lessons to develop these fundamentals with their students. Register here

Maria Erb is an Instructional Designer at the University of Portland. She holds an M.Ed. in Instructional Design from the University of Massachusetts in Boston. She is the WordPress administrator for UP and also the manager of its Open Learning platform Boost.
