LinkedIn Learning
Update
Lynda.com became Linkedin Learning in Fall of 2019. You will now need to look for Linkedin Learning in the My Apps Portal . All video courses and learner progress transitioned to the new site.
What is Linkedin Learning?
LinkedIn Learning is an online professional development platform that helps you discover and develop business, technology-related, and creative skills through expert-led course videos.
With more than 5,000 courses and personalized recommendations, you can discover, complete, and track courses related to your field and interests. You can also choose to add these courses and related skills to your LinkedIn profile once you’ve completed them.
Who has access?
Linkedin Learning is available to all staff, faculty, and students of the University of Portland. This means you can suggest videos as part of a course or professional development plan and be assured people have access.
Do I need a Linkedin Account?
During the initial setup process you will be asked if you would like to connect your personal LinkedIn account to LinkedIn Learning. If you don’t have a LinkedIn profile, you can optionally create one. You are not required to connect your personal LinkedIn account to gain access to the training available at LinkedIn Learning. If you do opt to connect your account, UP will be able to access some of your LinkedIn profile information, and LinkedIn Learning will be able to provide additional smart recommendations based on your profile information such as job title, skills, and industry.
Visit the LinkedIn Learning privacy help sheet to learn more on privacy when connecting your personal account.
