Math Interventions

This Literature Review discusses current research-based math intervention strategies for elementary school students, including math curriculums, math intervention programs, and math intervention strategies. The report summarizes instructional strategies and program models that target low achieving math students.

Strategies for Student Achievement in Algebra I

This research brief describes evidence-based best practices for educators to help improve student performance and success in Algebra 1. Strategies to improve student achievement include culturally responsive teaching practices specific to mathematics and best math teaching practices such as the double dose of algebra strategy. Finally, online programs have also shown to help students either recover algebra credit or better prepare for high school algebra.

Provincial Achievement Results for Grade Six Math

This report explored best practices for elementary mathematics and analyzed trends provided by a Canadian school division’s Grade 6 Provincial Achievement Test (PAT) scores.
