The Digital Lab on the University of Portland campus is a state-of-the-art space for producing digital media. Students have access to a complete video studio, audio booth, editing stations, camera equipment, light kits, and other accessories. In addition, the DLab staff is ready to assist students with their projects and offers workshops throughout the year on using cameras, iMovie, Photoshop, creating digital posters, and other topics.
In this podcast, José Velazco, the Digital Initiatives Coordinator for the Clark Library discusses the DLab as a resource for students to get hands on experience creating digital media.
[Video is] an ever-evolving medium and it can bring a lot of different ways of thinking and communicating ideas in a way that wasn’t perceptible a few years ago. I’m interested in collaborating with faculty and students to see how far we can take the medium.
