Techsmith’s Camtasia is a user-friendly, all-in-one video editing and screen recording software that enables users to create high-quality video content. Known for its intuitive drag-and-drop interface, Camtasia is approachable for beginners and those with limited video editing experience, while still offering robust editing tools.
Users can record their screens, add annotations, include voiceovers, and easily splice together clips, which makes it an excellent tool for creating instructional videos, presentations, and multimedia assignments. I know that some of you already use it.
We have recently extended UP’s Camtasia licensing to students to help faculty who want to use video assignments in their classes and who would benefit from students having a vetted, accessible tool for that work.
Techsmith provides brief and excellent user tutorials making it easy for people to get up and running and taking new users step by step through many common recording and editing tasks. Also, students/staff/faculty can download the software for any style of device.
If this is relevant to you and your students, please let them know that if they want Camtasia, all they need to do is reach out to the Help Desk for them a link to Camtasia download page, where they will need to create an account and enter a license key.
