In collaboration with the Shiley School of Engineering, Pamplin School of Business and the Foundation for Sustainable Development (FSD), the Moreau Center is sponsoring a 9-week summer immersion to East Africa in 2015. Students will be immersed in Kenyan culture and work with grassroots organizations to develop sustainable solutions to important issues facing the local community. Immersion preparation will include regular meetings in the spring with exposure to Catholic social teaching, principles of sustainable development, Kenyan culture, basic language skills, program expectations and safety. The East Africa Initiative is open to all students but sophomore and junior students with some previous travel and service experience are encouraged to apply.
Check back soon to the updates from the 2015 East Africa Internship, June- August 2015.
