What are you doing now?
I started out my career as an Investment Analyst for a registered investment advisor in Vancouver Washington before moving into my current role as an Equity Trader at Ferguson Wellman Capital Management.
Why did you choose UP’s Pamplin School of Business?
I chose the Pamplin School of Business for a variety of reasons but the largest being its reputation, the network it provides and the smaller class sizes. Growing up in Portland I always heard great things about the University of Portland and the business school so it was the obvious choice for me. After finishing up my B.B.A in Operations and Technology Management I knew I wanted to further my education so I went back to school to get my Masters in Business Administration and a certificate in Finance.
This was an easy decision given the relationships I had already established with the awesome faculty and staff through the smaller class sizes. I also have been able to leverage the extensive alumni network. This is something that I hope to share one day with those either in or out of college. I am always proud to talk to prospective, current, or past students about my time on the bluff.
The connections, network, and knowledge that I gained from the Pamplin School of business will only pay dividends for me throughout my career and I hope to be able to share that with others.
Any advice for someone considering an education with UP?
While there is a lot of information out there about the different institutions and universities that you may attend nothing beats going and visiting in person. If you have the opportunity to go and sit in on a class at the Pamplin School of business you will immediately see why it is the pinnacle of business schools.
