Jerry Folk Isn’t Folk Just Bangerz…

The night began at the Holocene…a bumpin’ dance bar for boogyin’ your bum off. Jerry Folk, who hails from Norway and has been on tour with SAINT WKND for the past month, is a house-funk DJ who frequently slaps some fresh beats with some tasteful oldies.

Given the double-tiered dance floor and colorful lights displaying “Jerry,” the crowd responded warmly to his arrival. He started the evening with Biggie mixes topped with a funk bounce. After a while, Jerry began to amp up his tempo. Everyone started groovin’. With margaritas in hand, Ingrid and McKenzie (us), were ready for Jerry’s original drops… and Jerry delivered. He played “Purple Feelings” from his album Purple Evenings, and followed this track with his third most popular song “To My Soul,” a single he released in 2016.

Unlike his first concert in Portland, back in October 2016 at the Wonder Ballroom, the crowd at the Holocene kept it cool and classy with each body-shakin’ groovy beat. After this, Jerry started mixing with SAINT WKND. You could tell the duo was feeding off of each other’s energy as they teased one another with some fun womps. After this, Jerry passed the baton to SAINT WKND who kept the crowd dancin’.
