The University’s Jazz Combo will perform at Portland’s premier jazz club, Jimmy Mak’s, on Monday, November 19, 6:30-7:30 p.m., according to Michael Connolly, Performing and Fine Arts. Admission is free and those under 21 are allowed until 9:30 p.m.
The UP combo will be followed with a performance by Dan Balmer, UP’s jazz guitar instructor and a local jazz stalwart. The Jazz Combo is directed by Dave Parker, Performing and Fine Arts. Performers include Peter Knudsen (trumpet), Peter Chamberlain (piano), Rylan Suehisa (drums), David Yee (saxophone), Nilsa Gibson (bass), Ben Mesches (guitar), and James Lange (vocalist).
