Competing in Mock Trial can give you a leg up when it comes time to apply for law school or grad school. You will  develop skills that are essential of any leader or lawyer.

  • Persuading an audience
  • On the fly critical thinking
  • Making crucial decisions
  • Speaking intelligently and passionately about a topic you believe in
  • Strategizing as a “lawyer” (raising objections, questioning a witness, and how to command the court room or any room)
  • Building a network of law schools/grad schools, employers, current and future lawyers, and judges who have all been influenced in some way by Mock Trial

If you’re interested in joining University of Portland’s Mock Trial team please email President Natalie Hagen (hagen18@up.edu) or Treasurer Kelsie McKee (mckee19@up.edu). And ask any questions at the Mock Trial booth at the Fall Activity Fair on Friday, September 2nd from 4:30-6:30!
