Partnering to Help All Kids Learn. That is NWEA’s mission, and I am very proud to work for a not-for-profit organization with such an aspiration and takes this work seriously. Our products, services, systems, partnerships, and research are focused on supporting our partners in helping kids achieve greater outcomes. In my role as the Vice President of Operational Excellence, I am always thinking about how we keep our diverse workforce aligned to the mission, deliver our products and services with quality and integrity, and ensure that we truly are doing our part for our partners and ultimately helping all kids learn.
One of my most important responsibilities is to manage and improve the cross-functional system in which we operate. Our system is based on the Lean philosophy of Plan-Do-Check-Act and incorporates rituals, data, KPIs, and continuous improvement to help us achieve excellence. Excellence isn’t reached alone but through many teams with different skills and diversity of thought contributing and working together towards the same outcomes. Remember, through teamwork and diversity we reach greater outcomes together which I find to be true in business and beyond.
