Elizabeth A. Schmitt Cebula

Today, we remember Elizabeth A. Schmitt Cebula (Jan. 27, 1932 – Sept. 9, 2021), a loving mother, grandmother and friend of the University of Portland. She always had a smile on her face, supporting our students and business community.

“Elizabeth Cebula positively contributed to the lives of many people through her kindness, compassion, generosity, and passion for education. She was a wonderful friend of the Franz Center for Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation at the University of Portland and she will be dearly missed. As a result of Elizabeth’s generosity and desire to make a difference in the lives of others, many students at the University of Portland were able to learn, grow, and develop as leaders who will continue to guide and shape our world. The legacy and ripples of her beautiful life and leadership will be felt for many years to come!”
