University of Portland launches sports business minor, grad program

Parkman and DeVaughn said UP is the right place for this program given the university’s longstanding sports marketing program and its proximity to some of the region’s sports business players.
“Although (University of Oregon’s) graduate program’s up here, the undergraduate folks are down in Eugene. It’s a two-and-a-half-hour drive. But here, we’re 15 minutes from the Rose Quarter, we’re right there with the Blazers. We’re 15 minutes from Providence Park to be able talk to the Timbers,” said DeVaughn.
