Talk Title: Human Centered AI: Ways to Build Trust in AI Solutions

Abstract:

In recent years there have been significant advancements in artificial intelligence technologies with great potential to improve the quality of our lives. Various industries have seized the opportunity to leverage the power of Data analytics, machine learning, and AI in their work. However, with the advancement in AI capabilities, to earn public trust, the organizations need to ensure their AI is robust, effective, reliable, and used ethically. Additionally, AI systems should be responsible, fair, and have governance and accountability embedded in its processes. Unfortunately, we have seen many examples of AI failures, especially with regards to their negative impacts on different groups and communities. This highlights the need to build these systems with human-centric design in mind. In this talk I discuss how to think about human-centered AI and ways to build trust in AI solutions through people, process, and technology framework.
