Ok, so there’s not that many classes, I just thought I’d make a good title. First off I had a great break from school. Much needed week of rest. But coming back from break I feel like I have had to put a lot of time into my core classes. What are core classes? Those are the general course requirements we all have to take in addition to the classes that count towards our majors. In the business school we all have to take 3 theology classes (Intro, bib-trad, and an Elective), Philosophy, Ethics, Sciences, Literature, College writing, and history.

Lately I’ve been working a lot on my Bible Past & Present class (formerly called Biblical Traditions and Culture and affectionately called Bib-Trad). In this core class you learn about the Bible and what it’s meant culturally in the past  and what it means in today’s society. I actually find the class really interesting and it provides a nice break from my major classes. The one downside is that there are a lot of papers for bib-grad and I feel like I’ve been in the library finding books (yes, you can still research with books) for this class.

I will say this, thanks to this class, I feel like I’ve become a much better writer and have gotten better at researching. Overall, I really appreciate the core. I think it makes you a more rounded person in the end and gives you perspectives on things outside of your major. And there’s nothing more satisfying then completing a massive Bib-Trad paper.
