UP Welcomes North South Foundation to Campus Again
~Contributed by Dr. Naga Vemprala, UP Operations & Technology Management Professor
Collaborating with the North South Foundation (NSF) for the second consecutive year to host their annual educational contests was incredibly rewarding. The Portland chapter event was a resounding success, with over 100 families joining us at the University of Portland to celebrate learning and support NSF’s mission of providing educational opportunities for underprivileged children.
The enthusiastic support from UP, especially Dean Mike DeVaughn, Provost David Mengel, and the Pamplin School of Business faculty, was key to this event’s success. It was inspiring to see our community come together to promote essential skills like spelling, vocabulary, geography, math, science, and software programming.
This collaboration truly exemplifies the positive impact we can achieve when we work together for a noble cause. We look forward to welcoming even more families this coming April! This event, and the ongoing encouragement from UP’s leadership, highlights the University’s commitment to the educational development of children in our community. I’m honored to be a part of it.
