New Distinguished Professorships
Through a successful fundraising campaign led by the Dean’s Bay Area Advisory Board, Chairman Brian Dexheimer, two new distinguished professorships were funded and awarded. The Silicon Valley Distinguished Professor of Operations and Technology Management has been awarded to Dr. Naveen Gudigantala. The Bay Area Board of Advisor’s Distinguished Professor of Management and Entrepreneurship has been awarded to Dr. Sam Holloway. This brings the total number of PSOB Distinguished Professorships to seven. These professorships are critical to support the scholarly work of our finest professors and to recognize and retain their leadership and expertise in their disciplines.
AACSB Reaccreditation and Commendations
After our five-year “continuing improvement review,” the Pamplin School of Business (PSOB)’s accreditation was extended for an additional five years by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International. One purpose of the AACSB’s peer review process is to recognize initiatives that support “an environment of continuous improvement of quality programs.” To this end, AACSB International specifically commended our Pamplin Professional Preparation Program (P4) as an “innovative and exciting initiative to prepare PSOB graduates to be global citizens,” and the Financial Education Program which partners with community organizations to increase financial literacy.
