Hello everyone! It’s that time to start blogging again and keeping everyone informed of all the exciting, invigorating stuff I do in my life. And that exciting, invigorating stuff happens to be studying! Within a blink of eye, I’m starting senior year and school is fully back in swing. That means back to studying.

If you remember my previous post about study spots on campus last year, you should remember that the university lacked a huge place for studying…the library. That’s because it was getting renovated and on August 12th, its magical wonders were opened to the public. And with the amount of new technology in it, it might really seem like magic to the older generations. Bookcases now move…green screens are in place…study rooms are decked out with monitors…and some of the ambiance might make an art director ponder in place for a while.

The renovation has added a ton of new study space. Outlets populate every square foot and the chairs have had a major upgrade. The basement is designated as the quiet study space as the first and second floors can get quite noisy. But all the study rooms are sound proof and a couple of them have monitors on the wall that you can link up to your computer…super helpful when you have to go over a budget with a group like I did.

And of course, with the new library, you have everyone who wants to experience it. I have paid frequent visits to the library to find it packed every time I go. I’m not sure if it’s because everyone wants to enjoy the new feeling of it or if they actually have to study. Either way, it is a definite advantage for the engineers, who won’t have to jealousy guard their beloved building, Shiley Hall, to outside predators like non-engineer people.
