Pilot Parent & Family Events Throughout the Year

We are committed to including parents and families in their student’s experience at UP. Information about each of our events will be shared in the monthly Parent & Family Newsletter. Here is a list of typical annual events hosted by Alumni & Parent Relations each year:

Pilot Welcome Receptions: These summertime events are hosted in regions where a large number of incoming students live. We come to your area for a casual get-together so families and students can get to know each other before heading to Portland! This years’ reception dates are TBD: we’ll reach out with more information soon!

Parents As Partners Summer Webinars: We’re offering four webinars this summer! Learn about Financial Aid and Student Accounts, Health & Wellness at UP, the Transition to University, and Campus Life. Details and sign-up opportunities will be emailed in June.

Orientation: Orientation is for students and parents, with combined and separate events for learning about all things UP! Alumni & Parent Relations offers snacks and swag at our lively hospitality tent on move-in day. That evening, we host a special Parent Social with appetizers, drinks and desserts on our beautiful bluff overlooking Portland to get you hyped up for the women’s soccer game at 7pm!

Family Weekends: We offer two Family Weekends per year. In November, we invite parents and families of our Junior & Senior students to The Bluff for a weekend of fun activities and events. In February, we host Family Weekend for parents and families of our First-Year & Sophomore students. Save the date! First-Year & Sophomore Family Weekend is February 16-18, 2024.

Alumni, parent and family events in your area: reach out to us at parents@up.edu to see if there are any UP alumni-sponsored events coming your way. Want to cheer for Pilot athletes at games near you? Visit portlandpilots.com for ticket and game information.
