Do I Need to Complete a FAFSA Every Year?

It depends! If you receive and use federal financial aid, including loans, you must file a FAFSA form annually.

The Office of Financial Aid also uses the information on the FAFSA to award some forms of institutional scholarships and grants.

However, if you do not want to use federal financial aid and are not interested in additional scholarship aid, you are not required to file a FAFSA.
