Due to the delayed start of classes, deadlines for withdrawing, waiving health insurance or adding/dropping classes has been extended by these offices:

From the Student Accounts Office:

The last day to withdraw from spring courses with 100% tuition refund is Friday, January 26. The last day to waive health insurance is also Friday, January 26.

Please note that refunds and loan advances will be delayed due to the extended registration timeline. Due to weather, please do not mail checks but pay via Nelnet or by guest pay at up.edu/pay. eCheck is provided at no charge to families.

From the Registrar’s Office:

The last day students can add or drop a course is now Friday, January 26, 2024. Self Serve registration will only be open for changes until Friday, January 26, 2024 at 5 PM. Students needing to add or drop a course after this time can reach out to their Program Counselor for assistance.

New Date for the Student Activities Fair – Friday, January 26:

UP has over 100 student clubs and organizations offering endless ways for our Pilots to get involved, meet people, try something new, find their passion, gain leadership skills and make new friends. Encourage your student to attend the Student Activities Fair on Friday, January 26, from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. in the Beauchamp Center to learn more about the many social activities available to them.

Career Education Center: Drop-In Support for Students

WEEKLY DROP-IN HOURS

Drop-In Hours are offered daily for students who are seeking feedback on resumes and cover letters, have questions about their internship or job search, want to prepare for an interview, need tips on using LinkedIn to make connections, want to learn about Handshake, and more.

During this time students meet with Career Peer Advisors for 15 minutes. No appointment is needed during Drop-In Hours. Drop-In Hours are first-come, first-served.

SPRING 2024 INTERNSHIP & JOB FAIR

The Spring 2024 Internship & Job Fair is for students seeking summer jobs, internships, and full-time opportunities. Students interested in attending a career fair for the first time are also encouraged to attend.

This event brings students and employers together in one spot, giving students the chance to ask questions about career paths and industries they are interested in, build their network, and learn about internship and job opportunities. Meet representatives from organizations in all industries including nonprofits, government agencies, and for-profit corporations.

INTERNSHIP SEARCH WORKSHOPS

This workshop is for students who are thinking about gaining applied experience outside the classroom through an internship. Students will be introduced to how to create an Internship Search Action Plan and learn about the tools and resources to help with the search process.

RESUME WORKSHOPS

This workshop is for students who need to create and/or update their resume. Students will learn how to curate their experiences to best tell their story when applying for summer jobs, internships, and full-time positions.

INTRODUCTION TO APPLYING TO GRADUATE SCHOOL

Students who are considering applying to graduate school are encouraged to attend this workshop. Topics covered include the application process, developing a timeline, and more. Learn about the tools and resources available to help make the application process smoother.
