Career Education Center: Drop-In Support for Students

WEEKLY DROP-IN HOURS

Drop-In Hours are offered daily for students who are seeking feedback on resumes and cover letters, have questions about their internship or job search, want to prepare for an interview, need tips on using LinkedIn to make connections, want to learn about Handshake, and more.

During this time students meet with Career Peer Advisors for 15 minutes. No appointment is needed during Drop-In Hours. Drop-In Hours are first-come, first-served.

Hosted in the Career Education Center, Franz Hall, Room 110

  • Monday | 2 pm – 4 pm
  • Tuesday | 2 pm – 4 pm
  • Wednesday| 2 pm – 4 pm
  • Thursday | 10 am – 12 pm
  • Friday| 10 am – 12 pm

Career Education Center: Events for February 2024

SPRING 2024 INTERNSHIP & JOB FAIR

The Spring 2024 Internship & Job Fair is for students seeking summer jobs, internships, and full-time opportunities. Students interested in attending a career fair for the first time are also encouraged to attend.

This event brings students and employers together in one spot, giving students the chance to ask questions about career paths and industries they are interested in, build their network, and learn about internship and job opportunities. Meet representatives from organizations in all industries including nonprofits, government agencies, and for-profit corporations.

Friday, February 23 | 1 – 4 pm | Beauchamp Recreation & Wellness Center

INTERNSHIP SEARCH WORKSHOPS

This workshop is for students who are thinking about gaining applied experience outside the classroom through an internship. Students will be introduced to how to create an Internship Search Action Plan and learn about the tools and resources to help with the search process.

RESUME WORKSHOPS

This workshop is for students who need to create and/or update their resume. Students will learn how to curate their experiences to best tell their story when applying for summer jobs, internships, and full-time positions.

  • Tuesday, February 13 | 3 pm – 4 pm

INTRODUCTION TO APPLYING TO GRADUATE SCHOOL

Students who are considering applying to graduate school are encouraged to attend this workshop. Topics covered include the application process, developing a timeline, and more. Learn about the tools and resources available to help make the application process smoother.
