With over 25 years of experience in IT technology and leadership, Jerry is an accomplished business leader who has brought passion to both startups and billion-dollar corporations in multiple fields. Throughout his career, he has honed his skills in leveraging technology to drive growth, scalability, and profitability. He has fulfilled business strategies, coached and developed new leadership, and turned around average teams in multiple fields, including manufacturing, internet, engineering, and education.
Jerry has proven capability in growing and leading cross-functional efforts to improve operational readiness, transparency of projects, and technology solutions to support company productivity. He is comfortable managing internal staff, contracted staff, and vendors, and equally adept in communicating with customers, development leads, and C-level personnel.
Jerry has diverse experience in high-growth, startup, and turnaround environments with experience in manufacturing, for-profit, and non-profit cultures. Currently, Jerry serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Strategic Business Solutions, Inc., where he oversees all day-to-day operations and provides hands-on support for strategic efforts, recruiting, and account management.
As a self-employed Executive Business Consultant, Angel Investor, Coach, and Mentor, Jerry works in various roles, including Interim COO at a 25-person startup. He is devoted to helping society and has invested in, coached, and mentored startups to help fulfill this goal. Similarly, he has helped mentor people with different backgrounds and seniority as they move through their careers. He is also a TIE Charter Member, Director of Networking/Jobs at the PMI Portland Chapter, and Secretary of the Society of Information Management in Portland.
Previously, Jerry served as the Vice President of Corporate Technology at NWEA, where he had sole responsibility for all development and supported the company in growth and function. He matured application development, infrastructure, and desktop support teams to improve their productivity throughout the company. Additionally, he established the PMO for the company, aligning its focus and charter with the business.
